Although we have mentioned it many times, Aruba’s main attraction remains its beaches. At Ocean Z, we can attest that the worldwide fame of these paradisiacal shores is well deserved. Nothing compares to arriving and realizing the intensely blue water surpasses every photo, video, or social media post. Every step invites relaxation, while gentle waves and tropical breeze create a perfect setting to unwind. But beyond the classic Caribbean beach, there is a more delightful topic to explore.
While a perfect beach day ranks among life’s greatest pleasures, another path into local culture lies in following irresistible flavors, scents, and techniques. Travelers often peek into small businesses and street stalls releasing the tempting aroma of melted cheese and slow-cooked stoba goat. In other words, one of the most exciting ways to embrace Aruba is by tasting its diverse gastronomy. The island boasts countless restaurants meeting top international standards, including Ocean Z Restaurant with its seafood paella and grilled skirt steak. Another highlight of Aruban cuisine is the Autentico Food Festival, where locals and visitors pay homage to tropical specialties. Sounds like your kind of bite? Here is everything you need to know about this celebration of exotic tastes.

As its name suggests, the Autentico Food Festival showcases Aruba‘s lively culinary scene, merging local traditions and ingredients with South American, African, and European influences. Unlike other events we have featured on our blog, such as the Aruba Art Fair, this weeklong gathering will run from Thursday, October 11th, to Sunday, October 19th.
This edition will be divided into three segments. The first, from October 11th to 17th, will be “restaurant week,” showcasing the island’s top eateries. Each establishment will offer its take on Aruban cuisine, esteemed for its bold essence, while adding a creative twist to delight diners. The second segment will take place during the same period and will cater to guests seeking a more elevated soiree. The “bucket list experience” will allow select locations to host exclusive events led by international chefs.
Last but certainly not least, Wilhelminastraat, one of Oranjestad’s most culturally and historically significant streets, will host the grand finale, flanked by the renowned namesake restaurant and city hall. Around thirty restaurants and beverage partners will fill open-air booths, presenting a wide selection of comforting classics alongside innovative bites, paired with cocktails to quench your thirst.

More information about the 2025 Autentico Food Festival can be found on the official website. As we emphasised before, once the feast begins, guests will be fully immersed in a festive journey through heritage tastes. Signature international tastes, such as the showstopping pasta al formaggio, will also be on offer, ensuring something for every palate. The experience will bring together both renowned and rising chefs and mixologists, reflecting the community of over 100 nationalities that shaped Aruba’s history. Travelers staying at Ocean Z can reach the venue in just 20 minutes by car, making it a convenient outing.
As the sun sets, attendees will experience not only authentic Aruban cuisine but also live DJ sets, music, and a vibrant atmosphere that becomes even more enchanting under glowing string lights. Although this will be only the festival’s second edition, it generated considerable buzz last year and promises to be bigger, bolder, and more unforgettable in October. Whether you are a foodie, an adventurous traveler, or a lover of local culture, the Autentico Food Festival 2025 will deliver a full sensory journey… Engaging not just your taste buds, but all five senses.
