The north coast of Aruba is, by far, one the island’s busiest tourist destinations year-round. Its popularity comes from easy access to Queen Beatrix International Airport, a wide range of hotels, and numerous entertainment options, from spas, casinos and restaurants to boat excursions. Its coastline, which includes Malmok Beach, is among the most celebrated in the Caribbean.
Eagle Beach is usually the preferred spot in this part of the island, but Malmok Beach has its own unique charm. Its natural features attract outdoor enthusiasts, but it also welcomes those who prefer lounging on the shore with a drink to achieve the perfect tan. Want to know more about this almost private gem? Here, we will share everything you need to know about it.

Discover the tranquil vibe and activities of Malmok Beach

Malmok Beach is one of the best places to experience marine life in the waters of Aruba
Like many beaches in Aruba, Malmok Beach offers a calm atmosphere, providing the perfect oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Its main attractions, however, are the crystal-clear turquoise water and abundant marine life. These features make it a hotspot for snorkeling and scuba diving, where travelers can enjoy multicolored fish, crabs and a few of the four sea turtle species in the Aruba biome.
Visitors to Malmok Beach say the water is calm, making it a great option for snorkelers of all levels. In addition, there is a parking area next to it, allowing everyone to descend the stone steps to dive into the sea with ease. Just remember to be careful not to damage the reefs and wear water-friendly footwear to avoid foot injuries. If you want to escape the crowds and see more than just slippery lizards hiding between the rocks, get out of bed early. Some suggest arriving between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., but, as we all know, the sooner, the better.
Though small (it is only around 2.300 feet long), you can bring a chair to sunbathe or admire the postcard-like scenery. Ocean Z guests who enjoy this type of activity can request a cooler filled with drinks and snacks to enhance their sunset experience.

If you have had enough of the fish that inhabit the waters of Malmok Beach, consider checking out the nearby boardwalk. Opened to the public in 2021, it has paved and wooden sections, with benches to enjoy the sun and sea breeze under the shades of palapas.
As we mentioned earlier, Ocean Z, a 13-room boutique hotel, is very close to this place. Everyone is welcome to visit its restaurant, which specializes in fresh international dishes. Highlights include the tuna tartare with ginger, chives, and homemade sauce, the lamb chops, and, to top it off, the frozen key lime pie.
Nearby beaches, namely Boca Catalina, Tres Trapi and Brazilian Refugee, are also worth visiting. To learn more about other beaches on the island, download our free guide by clicking the button below.
How to get to Malmok Beach
Unlike other attractions, Malmok Beach is easy to find. It sits on one of the limestone terraces along L.G. Smith Boulevard, a road that runs from north to south. In fact, Ocean Z serves as the perfect reference point, just a 4-minute walk away. In this sense, we offer guest transfer between the hotel and Malmok, should they wish.
There are several ways to reach Malmok Beach: on foot, by car, or by public transport. For example, Aruba Unleash suggests that the people who are on Oranjestad, Palm Beach or Eagle Beach take the L10 North bus and get off at the Malmok Arubus Stop. You can check out the Arubus website for all routes and schedules.
Now that you know everything about Malmok Beach, all that is left is to pack the necessary equipment and marvel at the treasures hidden beneath the surface of the Aruban Caribbean Sea.
