Fontein Cave
Situated in Arikok National Park, this cave belonged to the Ameridians, which covered the cave walls with decorative etching and drawings that are allusive to their history as a tribe.
The cave is 9.8 feet wide, with a height of 6ft 7in; and it offers a breathtaking display of stalactites and stalagmites (deposits of water and minerals that grow, either hanging from a cave ceiling or rising up from the ground) that have been resting there for an insane amount of years.
Historians have concluded that habitants in Aruba used to live in caves, where they hid during enemy attacks and where they completed assemblies and sacrificial services.
Aruba Aloe Museum and Factory
This wonderful establishment offers tours in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento (Aruba’s native language.) Also, there’s an independent walk around the museum, which is an eleven-minute audiovisual exposition that explains the origins of aloe in Aruba, as well as showing the process behind the making of their aloe-based skincare.
A more historical tour gives an explanation of how the aloe plant was domesticated, creating a new way for Arubans to survive as a result of bringing agriculture into their lives.
Donkey Sanctuary
If you are an exotic life admirer, there’s no doubt that you should give Donkey Sanctuary Aruba a visit. In this charming location, you can feed, pet, and interact with donkeys, ostriches, and other animals.
Between all the accommodations this experience has to offer, if you go with Viator, there’s pleasantly traveling in an air-conditioned coach from your Aruba hotel, learning super interesting facts about the animals from your tour guide, and enjoying struggle-free hotel pick-up and drop-off.
Meet rescued animals
This tour also features a trip to Philip’s Animal Garden, which is an animal shelter and rehabilitation center that came to fruition after years of rescuing abandoned and abused creatures. Founded by Philip Merryweather, this tour will allow you to meet over 50 species of exotic animals face to face.
Antilla Shipwreck
Another one of the many things to do in Aruba involves a scuba-diving adventure. The Antilla Shipwreck tour features a dive in the Caribbean’s largest shipwreck (400 ft long) which is covered in many ocean creatures such as anemones, lobsters, shrimp, and other fish species.
Between the adventures you can undertake, there’s going on a boat and snorkeling trip with Get Your Guide or going on Viator’s Antilla & Catalina Snorkel Sail. Additionally, you could take a dive into the ocean’s depths with De Palm’s Atlantis Submarine Tour,
Enjoying some marvelous sight swimming and learning about the real history of the Antilla is another unique experience that Aruba has to offer. Grab your swimming slippers and goggles and embark on this compelling marine journey.
Alto Vista Chapel
This free admission site was originally built in 1750 by Spanish missionaries. The Alto Vista Chapel is said to be the first church to be established in Aruba. However, a tragic plague struck the place and unfortunately, many lives were lost. The remaining residents of Alto Vista decided to construct the second church of Aruba and traveled to Noord to do so.
Back in 1816, the chapel was abandoned and went into ruins. Also known as the “Pilgrims Church”, this chapel is frequently visited by both Christians and non-Christians and has become a well-liked photography spot for many visitors. This charming site can be visited between 5:30 AM and 7:00 PM.
